Get ready for a hike that feels like stepping onto another planet. Brennisteinsalda, our 'Sulphur Wave', is famous for its incredible palette of colors—fiery reds, deep blues, and vibrant yellows staining its slopes from geothermal activity. The most popular trail is a 6.5 km (4-mile) loop that starts from the main Landmannalaugar campground, leading you through otherworldly black lava fields and past steaming sulphur vents before you ascend to the summit. The view from the top, looking out over the rainbow-hued mountains and vast volcanic landscape, is a memory you won't soon forget.

On the map above the sulphur wave viewpoint is on the red line 3/4 of the way up the mountain. On the map it is just where the B viewpoint picture is.
