Get ready for a surreal experience at the Sólheimasandur plane wreck. You'll find the haunting shell of a US Navy DC-3 aircraft resting on a vast black sand beach, creating a scene straight out of a movie. To reach it, you have two options: a 45 to 60-minute (7-8km round trip) walk each way or ar 15-minute shuttle ride. The site itself is free to visit, though there is a small fee for parking. The shuttle is available between 10:00 and 5:00pm.
