Magdalena Island, located in the south of Chile, is a bird watchers' paradise and home to over 120,000 Magellanic Penguins. A two-hour boat ride from Punta Arenas offers stunning views of the surrounding area before reaching the island. Visitors can walk among the penguins, cormorants, and sea lions, with an hour-long trek to the lighthouse that houses an Environmental Interpretation Center. Remember to respect the environment, enjoy the wildlife, and no flash photography allowed! We did it with Get Your Guide and it was so much fun!
