Welcome to one of the best and most accessible places in Iceland to see puffins! Here at Borgarfjarðarhöfn, you can get incredibly close to thousands of nesting puffins without much effort. A series of well-maintained wooden platforms and walkways lead you right up to the cliffs, allowing for safe and intimate viewing of these charming birds. It’s a truly special experience to watch them as they go about their day, and the surrounding coastal scenery is just as breathtaking. It is a couple hour detour from the ring road to get here, but this area was so beautiful and there was no crowds. Puffins come from May to August, but you can check reports.
