PLEASE READ: If you're looking to get into the back country

In my opinion, the best way to experience Alaska is to get into the back country on an overnight trip. However, with almost 90,000 square miles of wilderness area it can be daunting when choosing where to go or what type of trip you want to create. On top of that there are countless ways to access these remote areas like hiking, sea kayaking, rafting, or canoeing.
