Great day trip from Kyoto or Osaka. Head to Kintetsu-Nara Station and you can start seeing deers immediately after arriving! I suggest heading straight to the park instead of stopping at the very first sight of deer, the park is huge and tons to explore!

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Nara Park is a beautiful and expansive public park located in Nara, Japan. Spanning over 1,200 acres, it’s famous for its friendly free-roaming deer that have become a beloved symbol of the area. Visitors can stroll through the park's lush landscapes, dotted with historic temples and shrines, including the impressive Todai-ji Temple, which houses a giant Buddha statue. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a perfect spot for picnics or leisurely walks. People often enjoy feeding the deer special crackers sold at various stands throughout the park, creating memorable interactions. With its blend of nature, culture, and history, Nara Park offers a unique experience that captures the essence of Japanese heritage.
