For 800 yen, you can walk up a steep 20 min hike to the top of the mountains where the monkey will be. The Japanese monkeys are free roaming so please be respectful, and don't touch, you might however be lucky nd one might just come up to you! If you wish to feed them, you have an option to buy snack designated for the monkeys, but you will have to go inside a human size cage. Yes, you go inside the cage and the monkeys will stay outside, you can feed them through the cage! Aside from enjoying interactions with the monkeys, you can joy a great view of all of Kyoto!
