We’ve designed this ultimate guide to be your go-to travel guide for planning and exploring the NC500 in Scotland and creating your dream road trip!

There are three sections within the guide. Here’s how to get the most out of it:

Start here if you're looking for practical advice and insider knowledge.

These are mini blog-style tips, covering everything from what to pack to how to camp respectfully in the Highlands.

We've tried to pack it with as much useful info as possible based on our own experience and questions that we get asked regularly!

If there is anything you think would be a useful add-on, drop us an email and let us know! We really want to make sure this guide is packed full of super useful information.

1. Interactive map

Our custom map is packed with useful, handpicked locations to make your road trip as smooth and stress-free as possible. You’ll find:

• Scenic stops and photo viewpoints

• Local cafés and restaurants including some of the most iconic on the route

• Campsites, hotels and hostels

• Supermarkets for food and essentials

• Fuel stations (these are marked as ‘shops’ on the map)

• Distilleries are marked as 'breweries' on the map.

Use the map to zoom in on different areas, toggle layers depending on what you're after and plan your days!

1. Itineraries

Not sure where to begin? We have created three pre-made itineraries that you can use to plan your trip! 5-days, 7-days and 10-days.

Each route includes daily suggestions for stops, things to see and do, and approximate drive times to help you plan! You will also find food, coffee and photo spots along the way.

Please note: Our itineraries are designed to be full! If you're into slow travel, feel free to strip them back or swap stops using the map.
