A gentle walk, a cosy pub, a ride on a train, ice cream or donuts and a play park... Wholesome family days out don't get much better than this, am I right?

I think this might have been the most wholesome day I've ever had - A gentle stroll down the canal from Llangollen to the beautiful Horshoe Falls for some mud pies and a play in the river, followed by lunch at the riverside Chainbridge Inn. Then we hopped on the @llangollenrailway train back to Llangollen for ice cream and some more playing in the park.

Ok here's the deets;

PARKING: Any Llangollen car park ( we chose the long stay)

THE WALK: Llangollen - Horseshoe falls down the canal, 3km (took us 45 mins to walk with kids). Is pram friendly.

TRAIN: Berwyn station - Llangollen station on the @llangollenrailway

£5 per adult, £2 per child

WHERE TO EAT: The chainbridge inn at horse show falls, or anywhere in Llangollen some of my faves are @cornmillpub
