Garth Farm Campsite in Capel Curig near Snowdon offers a back-to-nature camping experience with stunning views of the Snowdon Horseshoe, and is one of my favourite budget sites in the area at only £8 per person per night (£4 for kids)

This family-run site on a working hill farm provides basic facilities like toilets and hot showers, perfect for tents and campervans. Situated between lakes and mountains, it's an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia's hiking trails, adventure attractions, and scenic landscapes. You can jump on the shuttle bus for the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) routes just outside the campsite.

You can access the lake from the site but it's a bit of a boggy walk down to it.

This is a hill-farm site so finding a flat spot in peak season can be tricky, they have a hardstanding "carpark" for vans in bad weather/when the site is busy.

As it is a working farm they do not take dogs.
