Greenwood Family Park for me is less theme park and more massive play area with a rollercoaster and water slides! Which works sooooo well for my girls.

They are not massively into rides, so if we ever visit a theme park I feel like it's a huge waste of money because they don't go on much. Even the very tame human powered dragon ride at greenwood was too scary for my eldest (8).

Thankfully there is so much more to greenwood than the rides, and more than enough to keep us busy all day - from taking our shoes off and following the barefoot trail, to climbing and sliding around the huge wooden tree house play areas, there's zip lines, a river ride, a dry slope sledge run, pedal tractors and carts, an animal petting area, soft play, archery and a theatre... And probably a lot more I've missed too!

I especially like the influence of nature and Welsh mythology that is used around the park, and the efforts made to improve the biodiversity of the woodland it sits in. And it's dog friendly!!

There was a cafe and a few snack huts dotted around the park, but they also had picnic tables and benches all over. Food prices weren't astronomical which was a nice surprise but I think next time I will take a picnic.

We went on a pretty miserable day, with the rain on and off all day. It didn't really affect the day though, and we managed to shelter during the big downpours by watching the magic show and heading inside to the soft play.

Glamping

Greenwood also have their very own on-site accommodation - thier glmaping Tipis
And if you're not into roughing it, fear not - Glamping at greenwood is definitely on the more luxurious side, with full size wooden beds and super comfy mattresses, a log burner, BBQs and outdoor seating with each tipi, single occupancy toilets and showers and a communal kitchen area.
Tipi guests can also grab breakfast at the cafe in the park, as it opens one hour earlier for guests (which also means an extra hour of soft play, before anyone else arrives!)
Well behaved dogs are welcome too, for an extra fee.
I think this is such a great option for a family holiday to North Wales, giving you the perfect mix of adventure and child friendly activities at your fingertips.
