Trwyn Du Lighthouse, also known as Penmon Lighthouse, stands proudly between Black Point near Penmon and Ynys Seiriol, or Puffin Island, at the eastern tip of Anglesey. Built in 1838 by James Walker, this 29-meter tall lighthouse was a game-changer with its stepped base design to tackle those pesky waves. It was the first Trinity House lighthouse to go automated in 1922, and now sports a flashy solar-powered light that flashes every 5 seconds. You can easily access this historic gem from Penmon Point, where you can soak in the stunning views and maybe even catch a glimpse of some puffins!
