Did we find the perfect campsite in North Wales?
Welllllll, almost...
A campsite on a lake is the absolute dream for me and my family - and this one has not only that but is centrally located in Eryri (snowdonia) at the base of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) with so many beautiful places to visit and explore right on your doorstep (or tentstep?)
But there are still some major downsides for us, but first...
What we love about this site:
❤️ Lakeside pitches for vans
❤️ A little beach and shallow access to the lake
❤️ You can launch your own SUPs and kayaks
❤️ Or you can hire them
❤️ Lovely clean facilities
❤️ A campsite kitchen serving pizzas in the evening and breakfast baps in the morning
❤️ A river on site for the kids to play in
❤️ Family friendly walks starting at the campsite
❤️ Campfires are allowed
Things that aren't so great:
This site can get very busy (we stopped coming here for a few years after a bad experience one bank holiday weekend, probs best to avoid on bank holidays)
Lakeside pitches are only available for Campervans/motorhomes
You pay per person for this site, making it quite expensive for families.
