Castell Dolwyddelan, a 13th-century castle in Wales, was likely built by Llywelyn ab Iorwerth to protect a key route within the Kingdom of Gwynedd. Captured by Edward I in 1283, the castle saw periods of neglect until Maredudd ab Ieuan took over the lease in 1488. The castle's history includes restoration work in the 19th century by Lord Willoughby de Eresby. Today, managed by Cadw, it stands as a picturesque ruin open to the public, attracting visitors with its historic charm and stunning views of the Welsh landscape.
