Stwlan Dam is a mountain reservoir located in the county of Gwynedd, Wales. Built in 1957 as part of the Ffestiniog Hydro-Electric pumped storage scheme, this dam sits at an elevation of 512m above sea level. The road to the dam is closed to private vehicles, but if you manage to get there, the views of the Moelwyn range and the Vale of Ffestiniog are totally worth it! Just be prepared for some narrow, curvy roads with 8 hairpin turns along the way.
