Crater Lake National Park
Just off the East Rim Drive, you'll find one of my favorite quick stops with a massive payoff: the Phantom Ship Overlook. It's just a short, easy loop walk from the parking area to get a fantastic view of this incredible rock formation that truly looks like a ghostly ship sailing on the deep blue water. The island is actually the oldest rock visible in the caldera, a remnant of an ancient volcano. It’s a stunning sight, especially when the fog rolls in, and a must-see spot that won't take much time out of your day.
