From the Welcome Center, you're just a short walk from the canyon rim, where trails descend to the Crooked River. The iconic Misery Ridge Loop Trail, a challenging 3.7-mile hike with about 1,000 feet of elevation gain, rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the high desert and the Cascade Mountains. Be prepared for a steep initial climb; the effort is well worth the incredible scenery that unfolds from the top.
