Get ready for a fantastic local hike with a big reward! The trail to Viewpoint Mike is a local favorite, taking you up through a lovely mix of oak and fir trees to a stunning overlook of Lost Creek Lake. It's a good little workout with some switchbacks to get your heart pumping, but the path is well-maintained. Once you reach the top, you'll find a perfect spot to catch your breath, have a picnic, and just soak in that gorgeous view of the lake and the surrounding forests. The trailhead is just across the road from the parking area, so you can be on your way in no time.

Just shy of 6 miles, this hike will inspire exploration to 20+ miles circling beautiful Lost Creek Lake. In late Spring and Summer, see if you can spot rafters and kayakers tackling the wild Rogue River. Personally, this is one of my favorite areas in Southern Oregon. Hiking in the shoulder seasons brings solitude as boat traffic on the lake below is tame prior to peak Summer months.
