Step into the heart of Tobe ware history at the Baizan Old Pottery Museum, run by one of the town's most established kilns. Here, you can explore a rich collection of traditional pottery and get a real sense of how this craft has evolved. Don't miss the impressive old climbing kiln, a town landmark, which offers a fascinating glimpse into the traditional firing process. These climbing kilns, or noborigama, were traditionally used to make Tobe Yaki, and Baizan has the only remaining one - though no longer in use. They also have a small gallery of Tobe Yaki through the ages, showing the deep ceramic heritage of the area.
