Naoshima's Iconic Seaside Pumpkin

The iconic Yellow Pumpkin, a symbol of Naoshima, is located at the end of a pier against the sea. A short walk (and fairly short line) leads to this famous artwork by Yayoi Kusama, known for its vibrant yellow and black polka dots, making it a great photo opportunity. After being swept away by a typhoon in 2021, it has been restored and is accessible at any time. The walk along the beach leading up to it is also lovely, as are the sculpture gardens past the pumpkin as you start to make your way into the Benesse Art Site.
