Perched above the stunning Oboke Gorge, this roadside station is a quirky gateway into the mystical heart of the valley. While it’s a great spot for coffee and souvenirs, the real draw is the delightfully eccentric museum dedicated to Yokai—the legendary folklore monsters said to haunt these mountains—paired with a dazzling collection of local gemstones. After exploring these oddities, you can step outside for a breathtaking view of the emerald Yoshino River winding through the gorge below. Access to the station is free, though the museums require a modest fee of a few hundred yen to enter.
