Nagoro is easily one of my favorite places in the valley, though its eerie atmosphere certainly isn't for everyone. This "scarecrow village" began as a personal hobby for Ayano Tsukimi, who started crafting the life-sized dolls after moving back from the city to care for her aging mother. Today, these silent residents far outnumber the human ones, populating the streets, gardens, and even the local schoolhouse. While some find the frozen gazes of the dolls a bit creepy, there is something deeply moving about this surreal tribute to the past—and if you look closely, you might even spot a few familiar faces, like Harry Potter, tucked among the locals.
