Step back in time at Omori Warousokuya, a traditional candle shop that has been in the same family for seven generations. Here in Uchiko, the last of its kind, you can watch artisans meticulously handcraft Japanese candles from the wax of the haze tree, a technique passed down for centuries. The warm, bright flame of these candles is larger than a typical candle's, produces very little soot, and doesn't drip, making for a truly unique and beautiful souvenir of your visit. The shop also offers candle making workshops if you want to try for yourself.
