If there is one thing that I would recommend in the whole area - then it's this one! 100%!

Honestly, when I first heard about it I thought that it was just another touristy thing to do. But my boyfriend convinced me to do it anyway - and OMG am I grateful for that!

The tour guide Eduardo really is a character. He turned his passion for mountain biking into his profession and still sees his job as a hobby that he shares with friends, aka us.

The tour started early in the morning and the first part was to get into the 4x4 trucks and go off-roading into the Andes. Eduardo really makes the 1-hour drive up the mountains part of the whole experience, blasting motivating rock music and telling you about life. It was so fun just going up the bumpy (not exaggerating here) road. Once you reach the top at about 3.400m elevation, you gear up and you're ready for a 10k ride down the other side. There we left our bikes and gear and went for a little walk through the wax palm trees. The valley is home to about 7 million of these (compared to Cocora Valley which has only 1.000). Since this valley is privately owned and Eduardo is good friends with the lady - we were the only ones there!!! Can you imagine? This was just insane. And the views were EPIC! As if this wasn't good enough already, the team set up a picnic for us at the top of a hill and we enjoyed an amazing meal together.

After that, the trucks took us back to the top from where we started initially - and from there it all went downhill. Literally. A 20k dirt road for us to enjoy to the fullest while enjoying the epic scenery of the valley below. Eduardo told us in the beginning that if one of us managed to stay clean, they'd get their money back. Let me put it that way - no one got a refund, haha!

Note: Eduardo really is not into all the marketing stuff and he wants to have his customers to have the best experience ever! (which we definitely had!) - hence you won't find any leaflets in town or in your accommodation. Simply shoot him a quick message and he'll get back to you with all the details. He also speaks perfect English since he lived in London for some years.
