Gatekeeper's Museum is an outstanding heritage attraction in Tahoe City. The museum was originally built as the Watermaster of Fanny Bridge in the early 1900s, and contains invaluable artifacts transporting visitors back to the past. An array of exhibits teach about Lake Tahoe's history, such as photographs taken in 1916, Washoe Native American history, and vibrant Native American baskets. There are also displays that highlight the 1960 Olympics, and boating history. Beyond that, the expansive park connected to the museum provides a wonderful setting for a picnic or stoll on the shore of Lake Tahoe.

Afterwards walk over to Fanny Bridge and feed the giant trout or head across the street for lunch at Bridgetender Tavern & Grill.
