Mountain village | Hinterland escape

Cool little mountain escape about an hour from Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Proper rainforest vibes, waterfalls like Cedar Creek and Curtis Falls, easy walking tracks through Tamborine National Park and heaps of lookouts scattered around.

After you’ve had your nature fix, wander along the main street for boutique shops, local art galleries and cosy cafés. There are also a bunch of wineries and distilleries tucked around the mountain if you want to make a day of it.

Easy day trip, but even better for a slow weekend away. Feels like you’ve left the city without actually going that far.
