This is one of the most surreal underwater experiences in the Philippines, the Moalboal Sardine Run. Just a few meters off Panagsama Beach on foot, I snorkelled into an endless shimmering wall of sardines.
Imagine millions of fish moving together in perfect sync; it was like swimming inside a living, breathing cloud. If you’re lucky as I was, you might even spot turtles joining the party.
The best part? You don’t need a boat or fancy diving gear. A mask, a snorkel, and a bit of confidence are enough. It’s budget-friendly, magical, and a must-do bucket list experience.
The locals do it without the help of the guide, but for the first-time traveller, I'd suggest going with the guide for the direction and having the best and safest experience.
Est Cost of the Activity: 350 PH Peso per person, including a guide, life jacket and snorkel gear.
