The Lone Cypress is a famous Monterey cypress tree perched on a granite headland in Pebble Beach, California. Believed to have been seeded around 1750, this iconic tree has weathered wind and salt spray over the centuries, making it a popular subject for photographers. With a history of protection measures like a stone wall and support cables, the Lone Cypress recently lost a limb during a storm in 2019. Despite its age and uncertainties about its future longevity, this tree remains a symbol of resilience and natural beauty along the Pacific coast.
