🏛️ MUHBA: The Underground Time Machine

I know, I know, "history museum" usually sounds like code for "boring," but trust me on this one. You enter through a medieval palace in the Gothic Quarter, take an elevator down, and boom: you are suddenly walking on the actual streets of Roman Barcelona from 2,000 years ago.

It is crazy to think this entire city is just sitting underneath the modern streets. You walk on glass walkways over old wine-making facilities, laundries, and houses. It’s dark, moody, and genuinely fascinating. Plus, it ends in the Royal Palace (Saló del Tinell), which is stunning.

The "Deals" Tip:

  • Free Entry: Go on the first Sunday of the month (all day) or every other Sunday after 3:00 PM.

  • Best Time: Go on a weekday morning right when they open at 10 AM to have the ruins to yourself. If you go during the free Sunday slot, arrive early because the line gets long!
