Ha Ling Peak, located in Alberta's Canadian Rockies near Canmore, was originally known as Chinaman's Peak before being renamed in 1997. The peak gained its new name after a Chinese cook named Ha Ling successfully climbed it in under 10 hours, winning a bet. The mountain offers hiking routes on the south side and technical climbing routes on the north side. Its history is marked by controversy surrounding its previous name and the subsequent renaming to honor Ha Ling.
