Should I buy a SIM-card?

I suggest purchasing a SIM card for internet connectivity during your stay. This enables you to easily use Google Maps while youā€™re out or send a message to your taxi driver through WhatsApp. You might find a Tanzanian shilling to USD converter (a quick Google search away) quite handy, making it easy to convert prices between shillings and dollars.

You can buy a SIM-card/internet in the village (do NOT buy at the airport as its far more expensive). Tigo/Vodacom offers a 22 GB/month plan for $16, with the SIM card costing around $7. I recommend asking your taxi driver to stop by a SIM card shop after picking you up from the airport ā€“ mine assisted me with everything!
