Sigiriya Lion Rock, located in Sri Lanka, is an ancient rock fortress that stands out for its stunning beauty and historical significance. Rising dramatically from the surrounding landscape, this UNESCO World Heritage Site draws visitors with its impressive architecture and rich history. Originally built in the 5th century by King Kasyapa, it served as a royal citadel and features fascinating frescoes, intricate gardens, and remnants of a once-grand palace at the summit.

There are incredible views as you climb the staircases to the top. Though we think the best views are from nearby where you can see Lion Rock but still.
It is expensive, by Sri Lanka standards, at $35 to enter. If you're interested in the archaeological site at the top then absolutely go up. We don't think its worth it solely for the views
