Art Deco 1930s Grand Ballroom lobby where Hollywood royalty such as Clark Gable and Rita Hayworth used to stay.

Designed by master architect Henry Hohauser and originally built in 1937, in its heyday the Park Central Hotel was a favorite Miami Beach destination for Hollywood royalty including Clark Gable, Carol Lombard and Rita Hayworth. Today’s Park Central Hotel, now The Gabriel Miami South Beach, infuses elements of 1940s Art Deco offering guests many vintage touches, including a nostalgic spin on music with jazz and pop standards from the 1930s and 40s, taking visitors back to that glamorous era. It was named the 100th member of the prestigious Historic Hotels of America in 1993, and was the first South Beach hotel to receive that honor. Within the elegant 1930’s Grand Ballroom style lobby, pink velvet couches, mint-checkered floors and turquoise accents dress the interiors. Above the lobby, guests will stumble upon an intimate mezzanine illuminated by nautical porthole windows, allowing natural light to spill in. A giant teardrop crystal chandelier hangs prominently over the lobby bar inviting guests to sip on sumptuous cocktails. For fans of the famous 1980's Miami Vice TV show, the lobby bar is one of the few places that serves the 'Miami Vice' cocktail. The drink is essentially equal parts frozen Strawberry Daiquiri and Piña Colada layered on top of each other. You can also opt to have a drink by the oasis pool in the courtyard adjacent to the hotel's outdoor eatery and bar enclosed by lush greenery providing an undoubtedly relaxing environment. With vibrant dining options, and a prime location near the city's top attractions, The Park Central Hotel promises an unforgettable experience for guests looking to immerse themselves in Miami's iconic beach culture.
