Khao Yai National Park’s lush mountains, spectacular waterfalls, and diverse wildlife make it a must-visit for nature and wildlife lovers. Just a few hours from Bangkok (but still close enough for a day trip), the park is a haven for wildlife, from elephants and gibbons to hornbills and macaques.

Exploring with a guide or organised tour gives you a much better shot at seeing the park’s wildlife. If possible, we recommend spending at least a couple of days here to increase your chances of seeing the park's elephants. And if seeing wild elephants is a priority for you, we also recommend heading south to Kui Buri National Park, where sightings are more frequent.
