Kelmscott Manor is a centuries-old manor house located in the Cotswolds village of Kelmscott, Oxfordshire. Built in 1570, the Grade I listed building was once home to writer, designer and socialist William Morris from 1871 until his death in 1896. Today it is owned by The Society of Antiquaries of London and is open to the public during the summer months. Most of the décor remains as it did back then with Morris' original books, fabric patterns, and furniture still on display. A recent restoration project funded by grants from the National Lottery Heritage Fund has returned the house to its former glory and visitors can explore all the areas of the house as well as the stunning gardens and orchard. It's truly a fun and educational experience for the whole family.
