The Japanese Garden in Interlaken, also known as the “Garden of Friendship”, is a serene oasis located near the old monastery and castle. Created as a gift from Interlaken's twin town of Ōtsu, this enchanting garden features a pond and pavilion that symbolise the landscape of the Bernese Oberland.

  • Shinji Pond: Represents lakes Brienz and Thun.

  • Waterfalls and Deep Ravines: Symbolise the region's roaring waterfalls and deep ravines.

Every element in the garden holds special meaning according to Japanese tradition, creating a harmonious and tranquil setting!

The garden is open year-round , free to visit and is particularly enchanting in the spring and autumn. It's easily accessible and located centrally in Interlaken, making it a perfect spot for relaxation amidst the town's attractions.
