Hamilton’s Seat is a true hidden gem that many miss when visiting the Giants Causeway. It is only 1 hours drive from Belfast, making it the perfect day trip idea!

This incredible view point on the Causeway Coast can be reached by hiking along the coastal path from either the Giants Causeway or from Dunseverick Castle. Hamilton’s seat is situated half way between both. This has to be one of my favourite coastal hikes in Northern Ireland, and takes around 2-3hrs to complete. This beautiful view can be reached along a relatively easy 7km trail, with breathtaking Irish sea views the entire trail. After 50mins-1hr you will reach the best viewpoint, Hamilton’s Seat, a panorama of majestic basalt cliffs.

⚠️Please be aware that this walk is close to cliff edges and care must be taken . Please do not visit during windy conditions and poor visibility. Weather conditions along the coast can change very quickly - so be prepared.

💚 As with any natural area please follow the principles of Leave No Trace, respecting the environment and wildlife.
