A 300-meter covered shopping arcade connecting Keikyū Kamata Station to central Kamata. Built after WWII, its name “Asuto” means “City of the Future.” This retro local arcade hosts grocery stores, bookstores, variety shops, izakaya, ramen spots, cheap snack stands, and even public bathhouses (sentō) for residents. The area retains a lively, everyday Tokyo vibe, especially during local festivals like Tanabata and summer dance events.
Touristy?: Low. Mainly frequented by locals, commuters, and students, almost entirely off the radar for foreign tourists.
