A picturesque gorge, perfect for a relaxing walk among dozens of lined-up Jizō statues.

Kanmangafuchi Abyss in Nikko is a short, scenic gorge created by a volcanic eruption. Visitors can stroll along a riverside trail and admire about 70 stone statues of Jizo, a Bodhisattva who watches over the deceased. Known as "Ghost Jizo" or "Hyaku Jizo," these statues add a mystical touch to the peaceful surroundings. Just a quick bus ride from central Nikko, it's a cool spot to explore nature and a bit of local folklore.
