Daimyo-style Japanese garden built in 1702 by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu for shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. Based on waka poetry, the garden recreates classical poetic landscapes in miniature. Famous for autumn maples and spring weeping cherry blossoms. Designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and Historic Site.
