Buddhist temple located in the Hase Valley, famous for its long covered stairway lined with hundreds of blooming peonies in spring. The main hall, built on stilts, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The site is also popular in autumn for its vibrant foliage and in winter for its tranquil atmosphere.

Entrance fee: ¥500.
Touristy? Moderately touristy. Well-loved by Japanese visitors for its seasonal beauty, but still relatively unknown to foreign tourists.
