A scenic canal-side walk lined with maple trees that turn vibrant shades in the fall.

The Philosopher's Path, known as Tetsugaku No Michi in Japanese, is a charming stone pathway in Kyoto's Higashiyama district. Lined with hundreds of cherry trees, it's the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or some cherry blossom viewing during early April. The path stretches about two kilometers from Ginkakuji to Nanzenji, passing by cozy cafes, boutiques, and serene temples along the way. It's named after a famous philosopher who used to walk this route daily, pondering life's big questions while enjoying the scenic surroundings.
