Togakushi Shrine Okusha is the main shrine of the Togakushi complex, hidden deep in the mountains of Nagano. To reach it, you walk about two kilometers through a forest path lined with massive cedar trees, passing through the iconic red Zuishinmon gate halfway. The walk itself is a big part of the experience and feels calm, slow, and very immersive. The shrine is dedicated to the deity of strength and protection, and the atmosphere stays quiet even during busier seasons. It is one of those places where the journey matters as much as the destination.
