Famous mochi shop known for the spectacular speed of its artisans, who pound mochi by hand right in the street. Their specialty is yomogi mochi—mugwort-flavored mochi filled with sweet red bean paste. The live pounding demonstration draws crowds, especially when performed in real time.

Entrance fee: Free (products available from ~¥200).
Touristy? Very touristy. A must-see sweet stop in Nara and a unique experience to witness live.
🕦 Check performance times displayed at the storefront.
