Tokonyan is a giant sculpture of a maneki-neko (the lucky beckoning cat), located in the pottery town of Tokoname, known for its rich ceramic tradition.

Standing 3.8 meters tall, the cat’s head appears to watch over passersby from a hill near the station.

It’s the unofficial symbol of Tokoname and a must-visit spot for cat lovers, ceramic fans, and seekers of quirky locations.

Tokonyan is also part of the "Maneki Neko Street", a path lined with hundreds of ceramic cats embedded in the walls.
