Iconic wooden clock tower in Kawagoe, originally built in the 17th century by a local lord. Reconstructed several times due to fires, the current structure dates back to 1894. Standing about 16 meters tall, it chimes four times daily (6 AM, 12 PM, 3 PM, and 6 PM), continuing its role as the city’s timekeeper since the Edo period. Located in the heart of the kurazukuri district, it’s one of Kawagoe’s most photographed landmarks.

Price: Free (viewable from the outside only, not open to visitors)
Touristy? : Very touristy. A central highlight of Kawagoe’s historic area, surrounded by traditional shops and alleyways.
