A Shintō shrine founded in 767, dedicated to the local mountain deities, especially Mount Nantai. It's part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Nikkō, alongside Tōshōgū and Taiyūin. Surrounded by ancient cedar trees, the atmosphere is calm and spiritual, especially stunning in autumn with the red momiji leaves. The shrine includes a sacred garden and small springs said to bring good fortune.

Price: Free (main shrine). Around ¥200–300 for access to optional areas like the sacred garden or Shinkyō Bridge.
Touristy?: Moderately touristy. Usually quieter than Tōshōgū, ideal for a peaceful visit.
