A Shinto shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of scholarship and calligraphy. It's very popular among students who come to pray for success in exams. The shrine is also famous for its plum trees (ume), over 1,500 of them bloom in late February. A lively flea market is held on the 25th of each month.

Entrance fee: Free (¥300 for the garden during blooming season).
Touristy?: Moderately touristy. Mainly visited during plum blossom season and on market days.
🌟 Don’t miss: Touch the back of the ox statue to bring good luck!
