A Jōdo-sect Buddhist temple founded in the 15th century, located in Akatsuka, Itabashi-ku. It is home to the "Tokyo Daibutsu" — a 13-meter, 32-ton bronze statue of Buddha, the third largest in Japan. The statue was erected in 1977 to honor the victims of the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake and WWII bombings. The temple grounds also feature statues related to the afterlife (Enma, Datsue-ba), sculptures linked to the Tōdō clan, and a peaceful garden.

Price: Free entry
