Iconic Shinto shrine in Kawagoe, dedicated to deities of marriage, love, and harmonious relationships. It’s especially famous for its love-related rituals, including omikuji (fortune slips) shaped like fish that you “catch” with a small fishing rod, and long tunnels of ema (wooden votive plaques) written by visitors. In summer, the grounds are adorned with hundreds of fūrin (wind chimes), creating a poetic, musical atmosphere that draws many. People also come to pray for stronger family and romantic bonds.

Touristy? : Fairly touristy, especially popular with young Japanese couples. Very busy during summer and festival periods.
